I’m bored these days. To be truthful, I’m nearly always bored, but that’s my own fault. My comfort zone is less than comfortable, but that doesn’t stop me from wrapping it around me like a fuzzy worn-out blanket.
How did I end up a comfort zone junkie? As a young girl I read all the Nancy Drew books. I planned on being a sleuth until I got a bit older and read all the Tarzan and John Carter of Mars novels. I couldn’t wait to be an explorer of exotic worlds and planets.
Instead I did the usual. Drop out of college. Get married. Pop out a kid. Get divorced. Take care of legally blind and manipulative grandmother. Work boring jobs for little money. Co-write books with terrific writers…
Okay, so that last thing is a bit unusual. And co-author Jeni Decker is incredibly suggestible…or perhaps she’s also bored. I watch The Amazing Race and on a whim I sent Jeni an email suggesting we apply to be contestants.
I’ve created a monster.
To be continued…

I’ve never seen Amazing Race, but I’d watch if you two ne’er-do-wells were on it. HAR! Oh, and apparently no one is safe since you discovered Photoshop.
